South Australia’s Strategic Plan: Have your say

April 19, 2006

South Australia’s Strategic Plan is a website concerned with improving the wellbeing and prosperity of South Australians.

It’s about working together to shape a future for our state built on innovation, strong communities, environmental sustainability and opportunity for all.

Have Your SayThat’s how the State government explains it. In fact, it’s not easy to see how the Plan does much to put our concerns on the agenda.

But it’s great to have a forum where we can make those concerns heard. So the Society encourages all members in South Australia to click on the Have Your Say section of the Plan website and… have your say!!

Look at the Plan’s Objective Two, “Improving Wellbeing,” in The Plan in detail section of the site and then send in your own concerns and priorities.

A key message from the Society: the general thrust of government support for the health and disabilities sector does not do much at all to assist people with lesser-known and ‘invisible’ disabilities.

The State government’s publicity for the Plan continues:

Now is your chance to contribute your ideas about how best to improve and update South Australia’s Strategic Plan.

The Plan sets out a blueprint for building on our strengths, creating new opportunities, and ensuring that our state is well cared for. Launched two years ago, South Australia’s Strategic Plan sets out 79 targets covering a broad range of issues that affect all South Australians, including population growth, River Murray environmental flows, smoking, volunteerism exports and student achievement.

A new feature of the plan website is in place to receive ideas and opinions from groups and individuals. Information is available in multiple languages.

We urge each of you to contribute to the update of the Plan. You can help by distributing this message to your networks and submitting your own ideas.

We want to hear from as many South Australians as possible.
