Phoenix Rising Special Edition: IACFS Conference

Tuesday 30 January 2007

CFS PhoenixA special edition of Phoenix Rising by Cort Johnson has been published.

It’s a report of the The 2007 P.A.N.D.O.R.A. International IACFS Conference which was held in Florida on 10-14 January 2007.

Cort’s report is divided into two parts: the Patient Conference; and the Professional Conference.

Here is Cort’s introduction to the report on the Patient Conference:

Welcome to the first part of the IACFS Conference edition of Phoenix. In these two sections we offer overviews of the two days of the Patient Conference which preceded the professional conference. The Patient Conference was a real step up from conferences of the past; they speakers were top notch and they covered a variety of topics from legislation to advocacy to sleep issues to new treatments, etc.

It was exciting to meet all the people I’d heard and read about and the conference really deepened my understanding of the issues facing CFS. I didn’t plan on going – but out of the blue Kim Goolhard broached an idea which eventually ended up in my getting on a plane to fly to Florida. Kim started it off, my Father provided the means and Marly Silverman provided the scholarship - Thank you all!

You can access the overviews in the PDFs provided:
