A good deal at the Adelaide Zoo

ZOO Accessible Adventure DaysOur links with other disability groups have put us on their distribution lists for the occasional special deal.

Here’s one for the Adelaide Zoo in March:

PARAQUAD SA UNITED WATER 2007 ZOO ACCESSIBLE ADVENTURE DAYS

1. DATES Friday 30th March – Monday 2nd April 2007 – 10.00am to 4.00pm.

2. SPECIAL ENTRY PRICES, FREE GUIDED TOURS & GIVE-AWAYS

VERY IMPORTANT:
To access these special offers, people attending the event will be required to present a Zoo Days Invitation (available from www.pqasa.asn.au) or an original newspaper advertisement displayed in The Advertiser on Wednesday 28th and Friday 30th March 2007 – ticket pre bookings are not required.

SPECIAL ENTRY PRICES AND BENEFITS

• $6.00 (inc GST) entry to the Zoo for people with a disability, including free entry for a Carer – tickets can be purchased at the gate on the day
• A 20% discount to the families & friends of people with disability attending – Adults $14.40 (usually $18), Concession $11.20 (usually $14), Child 4-14 $8.00 (usually $10), Family 2 adults & 3 children $41.60 (usually $52.00) and Children under 4 free
• Free clowns & face painting, special activities, animal exhibits and displays in the United Water Family Area, daily between 12-2pm
• Qualified HOMECARE PLUS Support Worker on duty to help with general needs – people requiring personal or medical support MUST bring along their own Carer.

SPECIAL GIVE-AWAYS

A free United Water Zoo fun bag to the first 1,000 people with a disability attending the event.

FREE GUIDED TOURS

Free guided tours leave the Zoo Shop at 10.30am and 2.30pm each day. For larger or special-needs group tours, please telephone the Zoo’s Coordinator of Volunteers on 8267 3255.

Free vision-impaired guided tour on Friday 30th March leaving from the Zoo Shop at 10.30am – courtesy the Blind Welfare Association (small group bookings not required).

Free hearing-impaired guided tour on Sunday 1st April leaving from the Zoo Shop at 10.30am – courtesy the Deaf Society of South Australia (small group bookings not required).

3. TRANSPORT SERVICES

To book a taxi for the event, phone Adelaide Access Taxis on 1300 360 940 or Adelaide Independent Taxis on 13 2211. Please encourage people utilising a taxi for the event to book a return trip when making their booking. For public transport information, people should contact their local service provider – Serco on 8350 9211, Torrens Transit on 8292 8100, SouthLink on 8186 2888 or Transitplus on 8339 7544.
