Australian ME/CFS Research

Saturday 11 August 2007

The Australian National UniversityA study into ME/CFS is currently underway at The Australian National University. This is an online study, looking at the severity of fatigue and the wellbeing of individuals with ME/CFS in Australia.

The online study is part of a large study which includes testing for language related “brain fog” as well. The testing for brain fog will be conducted in the ACT and surrounds. If you are available for that component of the study, please advise the researcher as well.

The study aims to show if there is any relationship between how severe fatigue levels are and performance on language tasks, and whether levels of stress and patient attitude have any relationship with fatigue levels or cognitive performance.

All people from Australia with ME/CFS are welcome to participate. Your participation is completely confidential.

The study will involve answering an online questionnaire about your health, fatigue and your attitude at the moment. The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete.

Then three weeks later, you will be asked to complete the online questionnaire again, the researcher will contact you with a second URL to login to. This will give the researcher information about how you are feeling over time. If you are interested or would like further information, please email Sarah*, at sarah.flint@anu.edu.au.

Thank you.

*As the researcher has ME/CFS as well, she has tried to make this questionnaire as easy and un-fatiguing as possible.
