Position information: Situation Vacant: Community Development Officer (Part time) ME/CFS Australia (Victoria) is seeking a highly motivated self-starter who is capable of developing, running, and evaluating a new critical project, which has just been jointly funded by two philanthropic trusts. Initially funded for 12 months it is hoped that funding for a further 12 months will be forthcoming prior to the end of the first year. The Care and Crisis Support Service has been developed to educate a group of professionals about ME/CFS who will then be able to be called upon when required to provide assistance in their relevant area of expertise. This position will provide the link between these professionals and sufferers of ME/CFS wishing to access essential services. ME/CFS is misunderstood in many areas and we are seeking to ensure that the devastating nature and seriousness of ME/CFS is more fully understood in the general community. In conjunction with the Project Steering Committee, the successful person will initially develop the implementation plan and then undertake to run the project in line with the original concept, which the funding bodies have agreed to. We are seeking someone with experience and knowledge in the community sector who will bring with them the skills to deliver this project in time and on budget, the ability to work with key stakeholders & volunteers, deal with ME/CFS people with urgent issues, and provide suitable solutions to a variety of issues raised. It is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo a police check. For more information please contact Nola Miles (Mondays and Tuesdays).
