Feeling left out? An interesting new Australian study

SPRCThe final report of a major project addressing the broader issues of poverty, led by Professor Peter Saunders from the Social Policy Research Centre of the University of New South Wales, has now been released.

Studies of Australian poverty have traditionally concentrated on comparing people's incomes with poverty lines. This one digs into the wider implications of feeling socially excluded. The charts of what people think of as essential and what those on low incomes actually have are fascinating.
