Update on MPs’ response to letters sent by Victoria

Tuesday 6 November 2007

ME/CFS Australia (Victoria)Since sending letters to the Victorian and Tasmanian Federal members of Parliament – and the Ministers involved – an election has been called.

We have received the responses from the following:

Friday 12 October 2007

Greg Hunt MP, Federal Member for Flinders

Senator Mitch Fifield

Monday 12 October 2007

Senator David Bushby

Anna Burke, Federal Member for Chisholm

Senator Lyn Allison, Leader of the Australian Democrats

Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson

Wednesday 17 October 2007

Kelvin Thomson MP, Federal Member for Wills

Ministerial Liaison and Support Section (no name given) on behalf of the Minister for Health and Ageing, The Hon Tony Abbott MHR

Senator Steve Fielding

Wednesday 24 October 2007

Tony Murray, Manager Liaison responding on behalf of The Commonwealth Treasurer

Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson (again) with the response from the department

Most responses were acknowledgement of our letters and advising that were awaiting the response from the Minister, others advised of the general health policies of their parties.

However, Senator Lyn Allison sent us a “question on notice” however the election was called prior to Senator Allison being able to ask this in a sitting session.
