Accessing the Medicare Psychology Rebate

The Federal government introduced new Medicare items in November 2006 for services by registered psychologists. If you go via your GP, you can get up to 12 consultations a year with rebates. It costs you nothing, therefore, if your psychologist bulk bills.
Many people with ME/CFS are still unaware of this potentially valuable innovation. Nor might they know of the related rebate system whereby your GP can draw up a health plan which provides 5 or 6 rebated visits to allied health professionals such as dietitians and physiotherapists. We’ll provide information about that later.
