Phoenix Rising: January 2008Wednesday 12 March 2008
You can subscribe to the newsletter as well as download each issue. The latest offering from Phoenix Rising is the January 2008 edition:
Here is Cort’s introduction: Welcome to the January edition of Phoenix Rising. In this edition we take a look at two studies with broad implications for the infectious subset of ME/CFS patients. These papers – by the Dubbo group – compared gene activity patterns and important immune agents called cytokines – in people who did and did not cover from a serious infection. The results surprised them greatly and are not without controversy. You can find this edition at http://phoenix-cfs.org/PRJan08.htm. Phoenix Rising will be more topic focused in the future; future editions will look at the CDC’s new conception of CFS, Dr. Klimas and the Immune System, a stress response edition and more. Shortly upcoming will be interviews with author Martha Kilcoyne, a recovered CFS patient and Dr. Chia the author of the recent enteroviral study and more. If the computer stays functional, a big if – it was down for another month – they will be coming up shortly. Yours truly, Cort
