Pediatric Case Definition for ME/CFS

Wednesday 26 March 2008

DePaul UniversityDePaul University’s Center for Community Research is currently conducting a study about the new Pediatric Case Definition for ME/CFS.

This case definition and a pediatric ME/CFS assessment tool called the DePaul Pediatric Health Questionnaire were developed in 2006 by the International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (IACFS).

The aim of the study is to assess the efficacy of this case definition in correctly diagnosing ME/CFS in children in comparison to current diagnostic tools.

Consequently, the Research Center is asking for assistance in helping them gather participants for this study:

Pediatric ME/CFS

The Center for Community Research at DePaul University is studying ME/CFS in children and adolescents. We are looking for children and adolescents ages 10-17 and their parents/guardians to complete the DePaul Pediatric Health Questionnaire (DPHQ).

• The DPHQ is a short questionnaire and will take about 30 minutes to complete
• Participants’ identities and answers will be kept confidential
• Please contact us to receive a copy of the questionnaire and with any questions you may have

Your time and voluntary assistance are needed and appreciated.

If you and your child are interested in volunteering, please contact:
