A great site on making schools (and other places) healthier

Friday 28 March 2008

Healthy Schools NetworkThe US leads us by a long way in taking steps to improve air quality and the general environment in schools for asthmatic and chemically sensitive users.

Have a look at the latest news bulletin from Healthy Schools Network, Inc. and go to the links listed for a range of fascinating information and resource materials on this subject.

And you don’t have to go to school to be interested in this: the principles apply everywhere!

The EPA’s Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools (IAQ TfS) Symposium will be held December 4-6, 2008, in Washington, D.C. Registration will open in mid-June.

Join school leaders from across the nation to share best practices and discuss the importance of developing effective IAQ management practices and how the indoor environment relates to teaching and learning. Attendees learn about available resources and materials, including the IAQ TfS Kit, which will enable them to support and implement good IAQ practices in schools.

To learn more about EPA’s Schools Program and to become involved, visit www.epa.gov/iaq/schools.
