Victorian Society news update

Friday 4 April 2008

ME/CFS Australia (Victoria)During 2007 ME/CFS Australia (Victoria) was able to call on many of its regular volunteers to run two projects:

1. Link Up Plus

Link Up Plus, funded by the Jack Brockhoff Foundation, ran from January 2007 to March 2008 and conducted 28 telephone discussions for members. Over 68 members took part in small group discussions on a range of topics. Of particular interest were a series of regular discussions titled “Action for Awareness” These enabled members to meet with members of the Committee of Management. There was also a medical Link Up for G.P.s. It is hoped that the valuable material from this discussion will eventually find its way into the public arenas of seminars and conferences.

2. The “On The Move” Project

The “On the Move” Project, jointly funded by the Andrews Foundation and ME/CFS Australia (Victoria) , commenced in December 2007. Part 1 of this Project has the task of reviewing much of the Victorian Society’s printed and promotional material and of creating display boards and banners. Part 2 of the Project is yet to attract funding. It will see the material taken on the road to raise awareness, provide information and support and to conduct educational forums.
