Phoenix Rising: The Advocacy Month Part IIThursday 8 May 2008
You can subscribe to the newsletter as well as download each issue. The latest from Cort is The Advocacy Month Part II: The US Federal Advisory Committee Meeting on CFS. Here is Cort’s introduction to the interview: This is Part II in our busiest month of the year: the Advocacy/Politics month. Here we provide an overview of the last CFSAC meeting. In these often fascinating meetings we get to watch top CFS professionals and advocates as they try to prod, nudge, cajole and exhort the Federal government to take meaningful action on ME/CFS. We also get insights into how the CDC and other institutions view CFS. Some of the issue discussed at the last meeting include: • Why more women than men have chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). Click here to read an overview of the last meeting. Keep your hats on theres alot more coming. We have the founder of the May 12th Awareness day, Tom Hennessey, coming up on May 12th. I will be attending the next one meeting coming up shortly as well as the Congressional Briefing and will report back on how those went. Plus Dr. Friedman will talk on research and advocacy efforts and more. Yours truly, Cort Johnson
