CENTRELINK BENEFITS Important volunteer information for people receiving Centrelink benefits: Volunteers can now benefit from helping local communities and not-for-profit organisations throughAustralian Governmentcommunity initiatives. If you are registered withCentrelinkand would like to participate in this flexible arrangement, you may be eligible to receive up to $800 worth of approved training via a ‘Training Credit’. You may also be eligible for an additional $20.80 fortnightly allowance supplement. What’s in it for me? • Volunteers have the potential to earn up to $800.00 of Training Credits. Training Credits can be used for any approved training course and are valid for one year. Who is eligible? • Volunteers must be in receipt of aCentrelinkbenefit e.g. Mature Age Allowance, Carer Allowance, Disability Support Pension, Parenting Payment, Widow Allowance and Wife Pension. What do I have to do? If you are interested, you will need to call one of our CWC offices to arrange an initial interview with a consultant. Our Community Work Coordinator will work with you to assess your eligibility and your options.
