Twin Study suggests that Fibromyalgia Syndrome has a strong genetic backgroundTuesday 9 December 2008 The European Journal of Pain is about to publish the results of a study in which fibromyalgia symptoms appear to have a strong genetic component. Researchers in the Pain Clinic at Helsinki University Central Hospital in Finland studied the “prevalence and heritability of symptoms associated with Fibromyalgia Syndrome (Fibro) in a population-based working-age twin sample”.
