New study: antidepressants help patients with FibromyalgiaSunday 18 January 2009 Scientific American reports that “Drugs traditionally used to treat depression are also effective in easing widespread pain, sleep disturbances and dismal moods associated with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS)”. This comes from a large-scale analysis in JAMA, The Journal of the American Medical Association. The Scientific American article begins by stating “Research confirms earlier studies, but experts warn that depression is not the cause of this mysterious disease”. The article can be found here:
