Eric the Postie – update

Last August we told you about Eric Smart (pictured), a former postie and now yoga teacher from Scotland, who is cycling from that wee bonny country to Australia to raise money for The ME Association in the UK.
He began in May 2008 in Aberdeen and plans to end his trek here in Adelaide in April 2010.
The ME Association has posted an update on Eric’s progress.
According to Eric’s latest message, he’s currently somewhere in Asia, possibly Turkey. Or Iran. Or Georgia:
Eric Smart is back on his bike again after spending the Christmas and New Year period in eastern Turkey trying but failing to obtain a via to enter Iran. He'll now be turning left instead of right and will take the long way round – heading for Georgia, Azerbijan, Kazakstan and China before pedalling on to south east Asia and his final destination in Adelaide, South Australia.
