Ride for CFS – latest update

Wednesday 25 March 2009

CFS RideThe boys of Ride for CFS, Nick Lawless and his mates, are on their bikes – and raising money for us. And they haven’t even started their treadlies on the road to the Flinders Ranges yet!

Here’s a bulletin from proud parent Kim Lawless (and do note his plea for help finding corporate sponsors.):

“Hi Everyone, I am pleased to advise that I banked $775.00 into your account yesterday as Nick’s first instalment in his fundraising efforts.

Today, Nick & his team are selling Scones with Jam & Cream to the teachers at Woodcroft College for morning tea. This of course was simply a ploy to get them to also sponsor each of the riders and from initial reports this has been very successful! Sue & I baked over 10 dozen scones this morning and we employed a couple of friends to do the same, so they are all fresh this morning – I am worried Sue has worn herself out already today before going to work, but I know she is keen for Nick to succeed…

Personally I am very proud of everything Nick is doing for this project - I wish we all had his energy and enthusiasm!

Also, I am keen to find some corporate sponsors for this ride. Can anyone tell me if any companies have historically been supportive of ME/CFS (either the illness or the society)? I think these are most likely to consider a sponsorship if they already have sympathy for the condition / sufferers…

Regards, Kim (& Sue) Lawless”

Thanks, Kim and Sue – and Nick & the team!
