Walk of FAME

The Walk of FAME is an annual event held by the National Fibromyalgia Association in the US.
Its aim is to raise awareness for Fibromyalgia(the “FAME” stands for “Fibromyalgia Awareness Means Everything”), and is held on or around 12 May (Fibromyalgia Awareness Day).
There are many ways in which people can get involved, even if they’re not able to participate physically: “Those who are unable to participate in a community walk can still take part in the event by becoming a virtual walker.”
The information page for the Walk also tells us:
“The second annual Walk of FAME will consist of hundreds of buddy-type walks in local communities nationally and worldwide. On or around May 12, teams of three or more – patients, family and friends wearing Walk of FAME T-shirts and equipped with information cards – will walk at an array of popular destinations.”
