Somersault UmbrellaFest launch

Somersault is an ongoing project about disability led community building, embracing installation, journey and celebration.
UmbrellaFest is a 2-day component of the upcoming Port Festival (held in October 2009). This launch event will feature and preview disability and mainstream performances and artworks, and celebrate the creativity and contribution of people with disabilities.

Tuesday June 2nd, 2009. 10:30am - 2:30pm
Governor Hindmarsh Hotel, 59 Port Road, Hindmarsh
Featuring a spectacular "flotilla" of colourful umbrellas by people with disabilities.
Performances by:
• Rhumboogie (Chris Finnen's new band)
• Kaurna Greeting (No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability and Kura Yerlo)
• Carroll Karpany and Native MC (indigenous father son duo)
• Sheela Langeberg (international African performer - music and movement)
• Prawnhead ("bluebilly" / Somersault favourites)
+ face painter
A disability and family friendly event
Admission $6
On-duty disability support workers free
