Flinders University fatigue study

Thursday 9 July 2009

Flinders UniversityResearcher Kate Cameron calling for more participants in her Flinders University study which "investigates the validity of a new measure of daytime fatigue – the Flinders Fatigue Scale (FFS)".

If you’d like to participate in the study you can complete the survey online or email Kate.

Here’s an introductory letter:

How well do you sleep and how good do you feel during the day?

A research team from the School of Psychology at Flinders University is currently running a study investigating Australians’ experiences of sleep and how they feel during the time they are awake. One aim of the study includes trialling a new and promising measure of daytime fatigue. This new measure could provide opportunities for better identification and understanding of fatigue-related conditions.

The study takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. In return for completing the online questionnaire participants receive personalised feedback on their responses and all participants are also invited to enter the draw to win one of several cash prizes. Participation is greatly encouraged to facilitate research into the understanding and measurement of fatigue.

The study has received ethics approval and all information provided in the study remains confidential and is not personally identifiable. The questionnaire can be accessed at:

https://socsci.flinders.edu.au/psyc/research/studies/2009/sleep_survey

or paper copies can be requested by contacting the principal researcher via email at kate.cameron@flinders.edu.au.
