Eric the Postie arrives in AdelaideWednesday 14 October 2009
The ME Association has the latest: Eric Smart reaches Adelaide - he's cycled 14,386 miles to get there ME Association fundraiser Eric Smart reached Adelaide in south Australia yesterday (Saturday 10 October 2009) – at the end of a 14,386-mile cycle ride from his home town in Aberdeen. He rode into Adelaide at 11:30am and immediately flagged up the news to his mum and dad back home. "He's quietly pleased with his achievement," mum Audrey said in a text received by us this morning. The 44-year-old former Aberdeen postal worker, who recovered from ME some years ago, has raised well over £8,300 towards the ME Association and intends to keep his online fundraising page open while he cycles on through New Zealand, the USA and Ireland – until he completes his cycling circumnavigation of the world. His target is to raise £12,000 for the MEA. If you would like to make a secure, online contribution to the MEA through Eric's online fundraising page, please click on the following link: The above originally appeared here. And you can read about Eric's exploits on his blog, Aberdeen2Adelaide.
