KatZen albumTuesday 29 December 2009
Barbara Keddy, on her Women and Fibromyalgia website, has written about the album: A new album for those of us with fibromyalgia! “Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent”, Victor Hugo Tamara Cimmerian has just released a new album about overcoming adversity and living with fibromyalgia. This will be a great way to raise awareness about our condition. It is a KatZens production called Overcome. Tamara will be writing comments on this blog about herself (and her fibromyalgia) and the best news is that 1/3 of her proceeds will go to the American National Fibromyalgia Association. Although I am Canadian I support Tamara’s generosity towards her National Association and know that any research will be of great interest to all of us in any country in the world. Congratulations, Tamara. Write as much as you wish on this blog and I will respond and ask you more questions. Others are invited to do the same. The full article can be found here, and it includes comments from Tamara in the form of a dialogue between her and Barbara. The band itself says this about the album: Now through February 15, 2010, one-third of the KatZen proceeds from Overcome will be donated to the National Fibromyalgia Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing and executing programs that improve the quality of life for the millions of people with fibromyalgia. Featuring the songs “Shadow,” “Try” and “No Such Thing,” Overcome is the breakthrough album from innovative new rock group KatZen. Lead singer Tamara Cimmerian uses her four octave range voice to acknowledge the battle of fighting against hardship to claim the life you are meant to lead. The lyrics offer a helping hand and a message that true strength can be found in reaching out for help and we are all in this together. As a Fibromyalgia sufferer, Tamara wrote Overcome to bring hope to people in all types of distress. She knows how alone a person can feel who is struggling and often uses music as an outlet to help relieve her chronic pain. “Anything that is too immense for me to express in words I express through the piano,” says Tamara. “If I didn’t have the piano and my music I am certain my fibromyalgia would be even worse, the emotions would stay in my body and wreak havoc.” Overcome has a universal melodic sound that will appeal to music lovers from all genres and includes the beautiful ballad, “Try.” Now through February 15, 2010, one-third of the KatZen proceeds from Overcome will be donated to the National Fibromyalgia Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing and executing programs that improve the quality of life for the millions of people with fibromyalgia. To purchase for download go to iTunes or any ditigal retailers listed in the "BUY ALBUM" box As Tamara has struggled with Fibromyalgia, she learned people really show they are strong when they can ask for help and recognize that they have options. Overcome touches on all the aspects of dealing with any kind of pain in order to find faith and empowerment to come out of adversity with a new hope. You can listen to samples of the music below:
The band's website is www.katzenmusic.com, and they also have a MySpace page.
