Southern Chronic Illness Links Networks meetingsMonday 18 January 2010
The Institute / Network is an Australian not-for-profit charity dedicated to improving information and services for Australians with non-priority complex chronic conditions towards Australian better health management and living well. The Network's ethos is summed up by a quote from the World Health Organisation: "People should be empowered to promote their own health, interact effectively with health services and be active partners in managing disease." Here's a message from Cathie Powell, the Network's program coordinator: 2010 is up and running. The first 8 weeks are especially busy as we finalise the service and care programs prior to the State election policy and funding changes. The FMS/ME/CFS and persistent pain services we are requesting on your behalf are based on the information provided during the last 10 years of action research surveys, focus groups, client assessment and those many feedback forms. This includes what best helps you live well with your chronic condition and the gaps you have advised that have caused you problems. We are still looking for people to help us on a short-term basis between now and March 12th as we finalise the self management programs and the services available across Adelaide for the 8 parts of the Australian Integrated Services program. Together we can make a difference! If you would like to participate in this very short term activity please phone the office on 8358 6086 or email bpprojects@telstra.com. Thank you, Cathie Powell Here's the list of Network meetings for January and February:
