Medical course questionnaire

Friday 5 March 2010

ME Free For AllUK researcher Linzi Tweedy is conducting a survey for people with ME/CFS.

ME Free For All reports:

Medical Course Questionnaire

I am seeking 200 volunteers to complete a questionnaire on ME.

The study I am undertaking forms part of my "Access to Medicine" course. The study will look into areas such as the classification of ME and will examine patients views on a mental health classification vs a physical origin for ME, such as the XMRV virus.

I will also be looking at treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy vs traditional drug treatments etc.

No one will be asked to provide their name or address and all data gathered it subject to protection under the Data Protection Act.

Details from LinziTweedy0310@aol.com.

The above originally appeared here.

And a note from Linzi:

The study is being conducted as part of my course, "Access to Medicine" at the College of West Anglia in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, UK.

It forms part of the course known as the "project." The choice to investigate ME/CFS is a personal choice, after suffering from this condition myself.

Researching into it I have discovered the wide debate over its classification and would now like to take a personal approach to research and discover how patients themselves view their condition and how they feel it should be classified under legislation.

The data collected will be produced into a report and hopefully if statistically relevant, I hope to publish it.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Many Kind Regards

Linzi
