What About ME?

Friday 23 July 2010

What About ME?What About ME? is a feature-length documentary that highlights the plight of people with ME/CFS. It is billed as "The story of the illness... Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome ...and the toll it has taken".

The film is scheduled for release next year.

From the film's website:

What About ME?

People are suffering, but they are told it's all in the mind. Our aim is to investigate ME further to put the plights of sufferers in the public's consciousness, which hopefully will encourage further research and health policy reform by spreading the word through this website's videos, podcasts from our interviewees, and short virals on the internet. The film is a feature length documentary, with a multi platform release, aimed at theatrical release worldwide, with sales to TV and online distribution. Guided by the expert hand of director Geoffrey Smith (for the acclaimed documentary THE ENGLISH SURGEON) we aim for release in 2011.

Interviewees in the teaser trailers:

Sufferers:

  • Paul Atherton
  • Erik Johnson
  • Robert Miller
  • Pat Fero
  • Mary Schweitzer
  • Andrea Whittemore Goad

NB: Virals : Smart, confrontational video clips to make sure that ME is put on the agenda of politicians and newspaper editors
TV documentary : A standard one hour documentary aimed primarily at the UK & US markets, but not excepting all other worldwide tv markets.
Worldwide theatrical release : Distributed in cinemas, with a running length of a feature film.
