Bowling event raises more than $2,000 for CFS researchWednesday 20 July 2011 From US publication Exploring Howard:
More than 100 people showed up to help strike out chronic fatigue syndrome at the Bowl Away Chronic Fatigue Syndrome fundraiser at Brunswick Bowling Center, in Columbia, on Saturday, July 9. The event raised more than $2,000 for Johns Hopkins Pediatric CFS research, thanks to donations and silent auction purchases, according to Hannah Vogel, one of the event's organizers. Vogel said 89 people bowled, but more than that attended to show their support and bid on silent auction items. "It went incredibly well," Vogel said. "It was just a big party, really." She said people are already asking what she and her co-organizer, Megan Lauver — both of whom suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome — are planning next. Vogel said the two Howard County women plan to continue to raise money for the debilitating condition, but would have to finish delivering silent auction items and counting donations before starting to think about their next event.
