Former Holy Cross coach Dan Allen's legacy lives onSaturday 26 May 2012
From US publication the Worcester Telegram & Gazette:
Former Holy Cross coach Dan Allen's legacy lives on Dan Allen, a longtime football coach at Holy Cross, was 48 when he died of complications from multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome in 2004. His legacy lives on through his family. Laura Allen and her three children — Mark, Taylor and Danielle — established the Dan Allen Foundation two years ago to honor the memory of a devoted husband and father. The nonprofit foundation’s mission is to raise awareness of chemicals in the environment that can lead to neurological disorders, and provide aid to those who have been affected by chemical exposure. “The goal of the foundation is to assist families and individuals who have suffered hardships as we have,” Taylor Allen, 22, said. The foundation’s plans also include awarding scholarships to students at Westboro High and Algonquin Regional. The Allens live in Westboro while Mark, 28, recently joined the football coaching staff at Algonquin. For more information, go to danallenfoundation.com.
