Johnny Depp lawsuit by woman suffering from fibromyalgia dropped in Los AngelesWednesday 15 August 2012
From US newspaper the NY Daily Times:
Johnny Depp lawsuit by woman suffering from fibromyalgia dropped in Los Angeles The suit alleged that Depp's bodyguards roughed up the 53-year-old woman as she tried to get to her seat in the VIP section of a Iggy and the Stooges concert Johnny Depp is off the hook after a Los Angeles judge dismissed a woman’s lawsuit alleging the actor’s bodyguards roughed her up during a concert last year. L.A. Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson ruled on Wednesday that the woman, identified only as Jane Doe in the suit, will have to reveal her name if she wants to pursue charges against Depp. Although she filed anonymously, TMZ.com reports she was already identified in a police report last year as Robin Eckert. She claims she ran into Depp last December an Iggy and the Stooges concert at the Hollywood Palladium, where she was harassed by his security team. The woman, who is 52 years old and suffers from fibromyalgia, alleges she was hounded when she tried to get to her seat in the VIP section, handcuffed by Depp’s men and dragged through the venue, “exposing her buttocks to other Hollywood Palladium theater patrons.” Johnson said she would have to use her real name because the alleged attack occurred in public and there were “no allegations concerning sexual activity or other sensitive or private conduct that courts have recognized as exceptional,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. The woman has 20 days to amend her complaint, using her name. rmurray@nydailynews.com
