VIDEO: Voices of Fibromyalgia – Raising Our Signs for Awareness

Video Synopsis: See the fibromyalgia documentary film that's changing lives one VOICE at a time. With over 20,000 thousand views on YouTube and being shown on college campuses and social media to help educate about the effects of fibromyalgia, this is not just a mini-movie, it's a movement!

Fifty survivors of fibromyalgia participated in this caption-video documentary film to help raise awareness about fibromyalgia by raising their signs. Directed by and featuring Haullie Free-Volker, this mini-film takes you on a journey through 2 months inside the life of a fibromyalgia survivor and what it takes to struggle with this very real, very painful condition. With the use of positive and thought provoking artistic imagery and raw video footage of what like is like living with fibromyalgia on a daily basis, survivors and non-survivors alike are given a window into the symptoms, emotions and contrast that takes place in the life of all fibro survivors through the eyes of fibromyalgia survivor Haullie. You will get to see the many "faces" of fibro and how they change depending on the severity of the illness. You will feel the emotions and you will understand the reality behind what most people never show others and why this is called the invisible illness.

If you are a survivor of fibro or you know someone who wants to know about what fibro really is like, this is the perfect video to share with them to help them understand your condition and what you need for them to understand and support your journey day by day. Because we all matter no matter what. Every story is unique and every story deserves to be heard. This is not just Haullie's story, this is everyone's story. And this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to showing you what fibromyalgia is really like behind closed doors.

Personal Message from the Director: "I thought that I had created something visual for Fibromyalgia sufferers, they would finally have something they could not only relate to but take back to their friends and family to help them understand this condition. It's about support, awareness, ending stigmas and transforming your core beliefs about this very real condition."
Haullie Volker
