Fibromyalgia info booklet launched after fundraisingMonday 29 September 2014
From Irish newspaper Wicklow People:
Fibromyalgia info booklet launched after fundraising West Wicklow woman Gemma Flood is about to realise a dream with the launch of her booklet on Fibromyalgia. Gemma has suffered Fibromyalgia most of her life. She suffered extreme pain, fatigue and memory loss but it was not until 2008 she was diagnosed. Gemma spends her time raising awareness for her condition which has affected the lives of many. The booklet contains true life stories of how sufferers are affected on a daily basis, stories from partners, siblings look on and feeling helpless. 'My main aim is to have Fibromyalgia put on the Long Term Illness List, we suffer from misunderstanding, we may look well but in fact we are very unwell. We receive no Government funding and the resources to produce the booklet were raised by suffers and their supporters. 'It has taken over ten months to raise the money.' The booklet was launched in the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow on Friday evening last by Deputy Pat Deering. For more information contact Gemma on 086 302 6377 or floodlight@eircom.net.
