A sick Cornish mum has put out a plea for people to help raise funds in a race against time to help make her son's 'dream come true'.

Single mum-of-two Joanne Bawden from Illogen desperately wants to be able to send her son Ben to Germany with the rest of his football team at the end of May, but can't afford the £800 cost of the trip.

She has now issued an appeal asking for donations so that the 15 year old doesn't miss out on the "once in a lifetime opportunity".

Six years ago, Joanne was diagnosed with two debilitating illnesses myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) often referred to as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and severe fibromyalgia which causes widespread pain across her body.
