John Takes On UK Cycle Marathon For Fibromyalgia

Stanford-le-Hope cyclist getting on his bike in Thurrock marathon to fight fibromyalgia

A MAN from Stanford-le-Hope is taking part in the Annual Thurrock Cycle Marathon to support a charity that has personal significance.

JOHN Stammers, 21, will be getting on his bike and riding for Fibromyalgia Action UK, to raise money to help fight the incurable condition that his mum is battling with.

The cycle marathon, organised by the Rotary Club of Mar Dyke Valley, takes place on Sunday, June 4 at 9pm and departs from Blackshots Leisure Centre, Grays.

John is aiming to raise £500 with his cycle and is already nearly halfway there after managing a sum of £205 with a few days left to go before the marathon.
