Dumfries biker Suzy says Curvy Riders gave her hope

Acceptance changed her life

A woman who has suffered from a debilitating health condition since her teens got all revved up about life again – when she joined a motorbike club.

Susan Dunn, 41, of Dumfries, was diagnosed with fibromyalgia aged just 13 and missed out on socialising as a youngster.

Suzy, as she is known to family and friends, grew up surrounded by motorcycles and decided to learn how to ride in her 30s.

She joined Curvy Riders Dumfries, Galloway and Cumbria – the sole ladies-only biking club in the area, in 2008.

Over the past few years Suzy has suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome, also known as ME, which has meant she can’t ride as often as she would prefer.
