Mannatech ‘guru’ investigatedA Californian newspaper reported in August that Dr Darryl See, who toured Australia this year promoting products for Mannatech Inc, was to be investigated by the prestigious Irvine Medical School for apparently misleading claims about research which he alleged he had done there. The Orange County Register said See subsequently admitted that the study, which rated Mannatech products against a range of natural substances, was not done at Irvine, nor was it done under a Government health grant as he had claimed. According to Bloomberg News, Mannatech Inc is now suing Dr See for fraud. Mannatech’s sales pitch for its product Ambrotose rested heavily on Dr See’s standing as a research scientist and physician.
